In summer 2026, Finnish and French young people will meet in Central Finland for a week-long youth exchange. The programme will include new friendships, nature adventures, art and creative workshops, games and evenings spent together.
Participants will have the chance to try dance, theatre French activities and do activities together. The exchange offers a great opportunity to use language skills, learn new things and gain international experience – maybe make lifelong friends.
Programme:
3–5 July – Homestay
French participants stay with Finnish host families.
Saturday 4 July: Joint picnic with host families and young people.
5 July – Start of the youth exchange
Arrival, getting to know each other, safety guidelines and common rules.
Ice-breaking activities, sauna and swimming, Finnish evening.
6 July – Environment and learning
Environmental project activities.
Introduction to Youthpass: what will we learn during the week?
Games and evening by the fireplace.
7 July – Art workshops
Creative activities continue, planning the programme for the community evening.
Introduction to Finnish sauna traditions and culture.
8 July – Creative activities and city exploration
Art workshops, theatre and drama.
Jyväskylä tour guided by young people.
French cultural evening.
9 July – Sharing and community
Workshops. Youthpass: what have we learned?
International community evening.
10 July – Nature and closing celebration
Nature trail, adventure activities and sports games.
Evaluation and feedback session.
11 July – Travelling day
French group travels back home
